Welcome to my homepage. I am professor at the Mathematics Institute at University of Warwick, UK.
Members of my research team and I are working in the wider area of applied and computational partial differential equations, including modelling, analysis, numerical analysis and optimal control, with a particular interest in applications from finance and socio-economics.
More specifically, we are working on
- Kinetic and mean-field models for many-agent systems in socio-economics, e.g. wealth distribution and opinion formation in human societies
- Structure-preserving variational discretisations of nonlinear partial differential equations with a Wasserstein gradient flow structure
- High-order compact finite difference methods
- Dimensional splitting methods for nonlinear partial differential equations
- Higher-order nonlinear partial differential equations
- Computational finance
- Optimal control of partial differential equations
- Models for pricing financial derivatives

I have been at Warwick since 2020. Since 2022 I have been Director of Graduate Studies in Mathematics and Director of the Centre of Doctoral Training in Mathematics.
Before coming to Warwick, I held academic positions at University of Sussex, Technical University of Vienna and Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz. I studied at TU Berlin and completed my PhD at Mainz.
I am associate editor for Kinetic and Related Models and International Journal of Computer Mathematics.
